Privacy policy

TidyVoice is built with a privacy-first architecture. This policy explains how your data is handled.

Audio processing

All speech recognition happens locally on your Mac using OpenAI's Whisper model. Your audio is processed in memory and never leaves your device. No audio recordings are stored, uploaded, or transmitted to any server.

No telemetry

TidyVoice does not collect usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind. We have no servers receiving data from the app.

No account required

TidyVoice does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or sign in. The app works entirely offline from the moment you install it.

AI text enhancement (optional)

The Pro version offers optional AI text enhancement. When enabled, only your transcribed text (not audio) is sent to an AI provider using your own API key (BYOK — Bring Your Own Key). TidyVoice does not proxy, store, or have access to your API communications. You are subject to the AI provider's terms and privacy policy for that usage.

Local storage

All app settings, preferences, and your custom dictionary are stored locally on your Mac. No data is synced to external servers.

App Store analytics

If you choose to share diagnostics with Apple, the App Store may provide us with aggregate, anonymized analytics (such as download counts and crash-free session rates). This data cannot identify individual users. You control this in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

Children's privacy

TidyVoice does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since no data leaves your device, there is no data collection concern.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of TidyVoice after changes constitutes acceptance.
